Things to Do.

1.Machu Picchu

If there is one place you must visit during your trip to Peru, it is the Inca city, Machu Picchu. This is the best known archaeological monument on the continent. June through August are the busiest months and most tourists stop at this destination between 10am and 2pm.

2.Islas Uros

These islands are Lake Titicaca's top attraction. These islands are very accessable and no tour guide is needed. Although, you might want a guided tour so you can get more information about these unique islands. Ferry transportation is offered daily from Uros during the hours of 6am to 4pm. These islands are about 7km east of Puno, Peru's folkloric capital. 

 

3.Cordillera Blanca

This is the tallest tropical mountain range in the world and one of the most beautiful places in South America. These mountains are a great place to hike with breathtaking secenery along the way. It has been proven that melting glaciers have casued a measureable decrese in the volume of these mountains, so get to them while you can! 

4.Arequipa

This is Peru's secong largest city, after Lima, the capital and largest city in Peru. Arequipa is surrounded by 3 volcanos and frequently experiences earthquakes. The structure of the city is able to withstand most of these usually minor earthquakes. This city is home to many wonderful spice dishes, such as rocoto relleno and ocopa. This is a beautiful and enjoyable city to visit while in Peru.

5.Parque Nacional Manu

This is a scenic national park that starts in the eastern slopes of the Andes and runs down into to the lowlands. It is illegal to enter this park without a tour guide, so make sure you have a tour planned! Travel, food and accommodations are included in the tour packages and visits usually last a week. June through November (dry season) is the best time to visit the national park. This can be an expensive experience but it is worth it!
