What To Expect,

As Far As Weather

Goes.

CLIMATE

The latitude and longitude coordinates of Peru are 9.19°S, 75.0192°W, which makes Peru part of the tropical climate zone. Peru has both tropical wet and tropical dry climate types, but it also has highland climates because of the Andes mountains. Along the coast, the temperature average about 73°F from November to April, and about 61°F from May to October.

WHAT TO PACK

In Lima and other urban areas, people commonly wear western style clothing. When going out to public places, people often dress up and women usually wear jewelery and makeup. It is not polite to go out in public in dirty clothes. Younger people, children and teens, dress more casually in jeans and a t-shirt or the jersey of their favorite sports teams. Rainy season in Peru is roughly from February to May, so if you are visiting during this time, make sure to pack your rain jacket and umbrella! Temperatures stay relatively warm year round in Peru so you should have a few pairs of shorts with you on your trip. You should also bring a pair or two of pants because temperatures at night can get kind of chilly and during the day also gets a little brisk sometimes. Depending on where you live, warm and cold can have different meanings, so pack the things that you think you will need to be comfortable. Check the weather forecast for your trip before you go and while your packing so you can get a feel for what to expect, as far as weather goes.
